New Zealander Michael Glading’s background has positioned him well for his role as Tournament Director of the ISPS Handa New Zealand Open.
That background involves a family history in golf which included his father (Bob) winning both the NZ Open and PGA Championships, caddying for the winner for events such as the Dutch and New Zealand Opens, 20 years as head of Sony Music in NZ and three years as the CEO of NZ Football during an era where the national team made it to the World Cup in South Africa.
The combination of golf, corporate management and sports administration has provided Glading the perfect background to tackle the issues involved in managing what is a rejuvenated New Zealand Open, an event which has developed into one of the ‘must play’ tournaments on the Australasian Tour.
